PCMR and Tongji University together for sustainable urbanization in China

Another significant step towards the effective promotion of sustainable urbanization in China.

In the background of its deep commitment on the research and implementation of sustainable patterns of urban development in China, on July 24th Progetto CMR (Beijing) signed an agreement of mutual cooperation and support with the Energy-Efficiency Building Training and Research Centre of the Tongji University. The Memorandum of Understanding aims at laying the foundations for a long-term relationship, which can benefit both parties through an active and fruitful exchange of technical information on solutions for sustainable construction and urbanisation, and the promotion of training activities related to social, economic and environmental sustainability of communities.

The Mission and main activities of the “Sino-European Energy Efficient Building Training & Research Centre” are fully in line with the goal of the MoU. Since its foundation in April 2011 in Tongji University, the Centre has always been engaged in raising awareness about sustainable construction and in producing innovative best-practices that integrate European know-how and China’s specificities, offering its strategic support to organizations and companies.

The event of the official signature, held in the Shanghai office of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, was attended by Mr Massimo Bagnasco, Managing Director of Progetto CMR (Beijing), and by Prof. Zhang Yongming, Director of Tongji University SWITCH-Asia and Director of the Sino-European Energy-Efficient Building Training & Research Centre.
