Massimo Bagnasco speaks at 2017(third) EU-China Forum on Sustainable Urban Development


On 20th March 2017, Massimo Bagnasco, Progetto CMR Managing Director, has been invited to participate to the 2017(third) EU-China Forum on Sustainable Urban Development in Fujian Putian.

As 2017 marks the fifth anniversary of the EU-China Partnership on Urbanisation, in order to further develop the collaboration between China and Europe in the field of urbanisation, the Forum is taken place in Putian City, Fujian province, hosted by China Center for Urban Development (CCUD) under the guidance of China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). With support from the Delegation of European Union to China, the Forum will have EUROCITIES, JPI Urban Europe, and European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) as co-organisers and Putian People’s Government of Fujian Province as the implementer.


The theme is Cooperation Innovation & Practice.

Mr. Massimo Bagnasco, as the Executive Committee Member of European Chamber of Commerce in China, regarding his expertise on urbanization and urban development, has been invited to deliver a speech on the forum.


He highlighted that the following points about EU-China cooperation should be considered:

  • Continue to advocate the concept of sustainability, circular economy and harmonious development.
  • Focus on innovative solution for city development.
  • Strength the effort to protect and renovate cultural heritage and historical site.
  • Preserve local identity, regional variety and bio-diversity as the treasure of the entire community.
  • New development, cooperation and investment model is necessary. The 80’s model is no more applicable and outdated…
