Greenland and Progetto CMR Usher into New Chapter of Sino-Italian Cooperation for Sustainable Urban Development

On November 11th, 2016, along the “Forum on Italian Industrial Excellence (Sichuan)”, the signing ceremony between Greenland Southwest China R.E.D and Progetto CMR was held, at the presence of Italian Ambassador to China, H.E. Ettore Francesco Sequi; Sichuan Development and Reform Commission Deputy Director Mr. Dai Yongbo; Italian Consul General in Chongqing, Sergio Maffettone; Italian Trade Agency Director in China, Mr. Amedeo Scarpa; CCIC Vice President, Mr. Valtero Canepa; Sichuan Tianfu New District Administration Bureau Office Investment Promotion Service Director, Ms. Xiao Ting and other Chinese and Italian officials.

The two companies signed Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for “Chengdu 意 (E)-CITY” the Sino- Italian Sustainable, Innovative and Cultural District, aiming to build a district to showcase sustainable urban development approach, innovative technical solution and promote Sino-Italian cultural, trade and economic relationship.

The cooperation is based on the original 意 (E)-CITY concept, which means Italian-style Eco-sustainable City. While taking an Italian perspective, the 意 (E)-CITY  will be focused on the principles settled by the China 13th Five-Year Plan and National New Style Urbanization Plan for the urbanization process (People-centered, Intensive, Compact, Inclusive, Green & Smart).

In order to further deepen the cooperation between China and Italy, Greenland and Progetto CMR will set up a dedicated team to draw the detailed planning and develop a project that could concretely implement the core vision and contents of 意 (E)-CITY principles.

With real estate as its main business, Greenland Group plays a leading role in development scale, product types, and quality and brand in China. It is working hard to transform itself from “China’s Greenland” to the “World’s Greenland”.  This cooperation will mark a solid step of Greenland on its way to go globalization.

It is a mission for Progetto CMR, ranked among the World Top 100 Architecture Design Firms, to enlarge the Sino-Italian cooperation to a wider range of Italian companies acting in the project relevant fields (environmental protection, green energy, urban infrastructure, healthcare, furniture) and to devote itself to China’s human centered urban development.

The two companies will work with the common aim to enhance the bilateral relationship between China and Italy.
