Signing Ceremony Witnessed by Chinese Premier and European Commission President

2016 Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Projects under the EU-China Urbanization Partnership was held on July 13th in the Great Hall of the People in the presence of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

Progetto CMR signed Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Sino-Italian Zhenjiang Agricultural Innovation Demo Park Detailed Urban Plan with Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Administrative Committee.

Mr. Massimo Bagnasco, Progetto CMR Managing Partner and Mr. An Jiang, the Member of CPC Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Committee, on behalf of each side, signed the agreement, witnessed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, and other top leaders from China and Europe, including Chinese Foreign Minister – Wang Yi, Chinese Minister of Commerce – Gao Hucheng, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission – Xu Shaoshi, Industry and Information Technology Minister – Miao Wei, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission – Hu Zucai, Italian Ambassador to China – Ettore Sequi, and Swedish Ambassador to China – Lars Fredén.

The project is expected to attract 0.8 billion Euros investments. It is focused on research and development of agricultural technologies, food safety, agricultural cultivation, agricultural products (food) processing, agricultural products (food) logistics and trade, agricultural and ecological tourism, elderly care and healthcare. The park will be built as a demonstration park for modern agriculture development, new urbanization sustainable development and Sino-Italian economic, trade and culture cooperation.

In 2015, Progetto CMR designed the preliminary planning of the Sino-Italian Innovative Demonstrative Agriculture Park, to be developed on an area worth 30 square kilometers. The plan was assessed by Vetting Committee consisted of the national, provincial and municipal experts. And it has won the Golden Environment Award of “2015 Annual National Habitat classic architectural planning and design competition”.

At this paramount moment, Progetto CMR is not just honored, but also aware of its greater responsibility to promote human scale development, sustainable urbanization, by a closer cooperation between Europe and China.
